The world has evolved tremendously in all aspects, from technology to industry to people and everything in between. Education around the globe has been revolutionized, as the youth of countries such as Finland, Australia, and Singapore thrive through creativity and are inspired to truly learn. The United States claims itself to be the greatest country in the world, yet the educational system has not evolved in the slightest way since it was introduced to train child labor workers to do just that, labor.
It is as much as an issue as anything on the planet, however it is overlooked and guarded by ignorance. The ignorance that the students are taught, and the ignorance of those in charge. People fear righteousness and standing up for what they believe in, especially against education. Students are told that they are “just kids,” and that they “do not understand.” And to all the principals and teachers that have uttered those words, I concur. Reformation and revolution is needed. Teachers are just as vital to the world as those in education, and knowledge is an infinite power, but for some reason a lost art. It is hindered by the 8 hour days, the hours of studying and homework, the cost of college, and the lack of opportunity given through the educational programs that reside in America. Creativity is hindered by the hours wasted by students who do not want to learn math or English, but are forced to spend hours investing themselves in to time they can spend doing what they desire. Standardized tests, called evil even by its creator, as well as the lack of funding, the lack of rightful pay for teachers, the privacy breached, and what is taught, all for the purpose to compete for a grade and a ranking. Humanity has lost its contact and connection with the youth through the corruption of education, and how will that ever lead to prosperity if the youth is 100% of the future? There is more money invested in to prisons than schools. Teachers are paid less than just about any career obtained through college degrees. The United States ranks 14th in education in the world, behind every country that has reduced number of hours in a school day and changed the way education and knowledge is transferred from teacher and curriculum to students. An estimated 6 million children have zero access to any form of arts education, while another 6 million have what is considered minimal exposure to any art program. More than 8 million American students are not even able to read, and 7 thousand students drop out of school per day because of not only their lack of reading schools, but the strenuous nature of the competitive influence school has brought on to their students. Fishes are being taught to climb up trees, and being forced to take out hundred grand loans to get degrees that does not even guarantee a job, let alone one that can provide, get them out of student debt, and reward their desires with satisfaction and serenity. It is time humanity finds the strength to unify, and therefore revolutionize. The Education System demands to be changed by the many refrained by money, lack of opportunity, and lack of true education. There is nothing that matters at the end of each day, besides the art one creates and the love one disperses. Society has lost touch with their spirit, and it starts in the education system. Independence should be exasperated and utilized. America must adopt the other worldly ideas of education, and simply design a greater hope, a rightful prosperity, and economic righteousness for all those who seek the power of knowledge. Education is not competition. The world is not ranked. Money is an object. From the youth, to the generation and authority that has kept us in the shackles of ignorance for so long, it is time for change. The youth wants more. The youth deserves more.
